Biography:
Dr Doris is from Penang and received her primary medical education at the School of Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) where she attained her qualification as a Medical Doctor (MD) in year 2004. Dr Doris had a background in intensive care and anaesthesia before deciding to pursue a career in clinical oncology. Dr Doris was initially trained as an oncology medical officer at Penang General Hospital and later, Mount Miriam Cancer Hospital. She was subsequently offered a position as a Clinical Oncology Specialist Registrar at the Christie in Manchester, one of the leading cancer and research centre in Europe. She obtained her Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologist in Clinical Oncology (FRCR) and was conferred the Rohan Williams Medal. This medal is awarded to an outstanding candidate at each sitting at the final examination from the fellowship.

At the Christie, Dr Doris was trained in various cancer subsites and has experience with advanced radiotherapy techniques used for cancer management. She has a special interest in neuro-oncology and particularly the use of stereotactic radiosurgery to treat benign and malignant central nervous system tumours (brain tumours). Dr Doris also has a keen interest in treating paediatrics brain/spine, lung cancer, thyroid cancer, head and neck cancers, skin cancer, breast cancer and upper and lower gastro intestinal cancers. Prior to her return to Malaysia, Dr Doris has also gained exposure to the use of tomotherapy at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge.
